THE DJW TALENT ORIGIN STORY
DJW Talent (Company Founder, Daniel-John Williams) has spent eleven years (2015-2026) discovering, supporting, coaching, mentoring and representing actors regionally, nationally and internationally with DJW Talent, but started coaching in 2008, shortly after graduating from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts. DJW Talent have sourced countless opportunities and secured hundreds of television, film, commercial (comedy and drama) contracts for our actors and advised everyone on our books on how to make memorable and meaningful choices, for a clear route to market. With over 34 years in the industry, Daniel-John has a good grasp for creativity, craft and trade.
DJW Talent launched on 16th August 2015 at Stockton Town Football Club (Studio) and 20 actors became Members on that day and as the weeks and months followed DJW grew the studio into a 100 strong member acting academy, over three schools and this continued for over five years with people graduating and new members joining. Many of our actors were put forward, seen or cast by some of the biggest casting directors in the film and tv industry. Our guests have been eye watering over the years, both online and in the studio. Some of our actors got their first professional credits with us, some went on to further education, some actors became eligible for Spotlight, many graduating from prestigious drama schools around the world, some went on to even produce their own award winning short films, build production companies and work on some of the biggest and most well-known tv and film projects out there.
The DJW School of Acting focused on coaching, mentoring and guiding actors through character development, stage craft, technique and creative thinking known as The Craft and DJW Talent focussed on representing actors in theatre, television, commercials, Radio and Film whilst advising and supporting talent so they understand the business (known as The Trade). We worked with thousands of actors over 11 years in one shape or another, including school, college, university and drama school visits, reaching talent up and down the country.
DJW SERVICES includes: Acting Tuition Services for those wishing to learn more about the acting process and character development known as (The Craft) and Acting Consultancy Services for those wishing to understand how the business works (The Trade) but we also have Creative Consultancy Services for producers seeking a casting director, a writer seeking a script consultant or a production company seeking a producer | executive producer.
In 2025 DJW Talent has closed the doors to the acting agency and will now focus on coaching actors the craft and trade via our new DJW Services which focus on character development, script breakdowns, audition technique and contacting agents and casting directors with strong headshots, showreels, self tapes and a standout Spotlight profile.
Daniel-John Williams (our founder) an actor since the age of 8 has built up a tremendous amount of experience and has worked with some of the best in the business, in front and behind the screen. His work has seen him working on Strictly Come Dancing as Sara Davies acting coach, Lionhead Studios (X-BOX) Casting assistant and dramaturg for Milo & Kate and recently he put his acting shoes back on for How To Train Your Dragon Live-Action, which has opened doors for other creative collaborations. DJW Talent have helped nurture hundreds of actors in Teesside, Newcastle through the acting classes and hundreds more through the agency. We had three schools in 2019 and once the pandemic hit, we lost so much and never regained strength, despite ploughing everything we had back into it. So August 8th 2026, we closed the doors to our studio acting classes so Daniel-John Williams could focus his energy on other things, especially his own acting career, a new book he is writing called Find A Way and with his new agent, he hopes to raise some of his own projects off the ground. Including theatre shows, films and various other projects.

DJW TALENT NOW
2026 marks the beginning of a new chapter for DJW TALENT after eleven years of development and creativity. Daniel-John Williams will now embark on an entirely new way to support actors Regionally, Nationally and Internationally with consultancy and coaching being at the core of everything DJW Talent offers. Enabling, encouraging and inspiring talent has always been the heart beat of DJW TALENT but as we enter into this new phase, we are focussed on professional development and strategies for clear routes to market, offering consultancy services and private acting tuition. Not only will we be working with actors, but also creatives who need additional support on their projects (Scripts, Characters, Storylines, Pitch Decks, Productions - in Theatre, Television and Film) - Daniel-John is keen to now embark on bringing theatre shows to life, producing films and bringing audiences back into venues, whilst continuing to support actors well-being, focus, drive and passion.
DJW Talent will continue to go into schools, colleges and universities to engage with as many creatives as possible. 2026/2027/2028 Ed Fringe Festival and SIRF (Stockton International Riverside Festival) will be frequently visited and researched by the DJW Talent team for future collaborations. Daniel-John Williams has just finished his first draft of the book he is writing called FIND A WAY, which he hopes helps actors and creatives but also anyone who seems to get stuck or struggles. He is also writing for a new theatre show whilst continuing to offer his services as a tv & film fixer - Most recently for Flymo the gardening brand.
After HOME was released (A feature length documentary film which Daniel-John Williams produced and directed) there have been talks and now some green lights for more filming opportunities. So whilst DJW might not offer the same services, the story isn't over yet.
