THE DJW TALENT ORIGIN STORY
DJW TALENT was launched in 2015 and received GOLD Certification by QA International from 2015-2023 for contributions to the industry and supporting local talent.
Daniel-John Williams, the founder and company director returned to the North East, having been on the move since 2000 and graduating in 2008 from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts with a Second Class Honours (division one) and has worked with countless actors in many different platforms, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for each new talent to thrive and flourish.
In 2016, Daniel-John became a father to Maddie-Bee Darling who sustained a birth injury known as Erbs Palsy, resulting in another major shift in vision for Daniel-John and his partner Emma Louise. His pursuit of a career in acting came to an abrupt end and his focus became DJW TALENT and his daughters therapies. His partner Emma stepped into the role of Managing Director, a full time carer and Mother.
Eight years later, in 2024 the game changed when the call came for Daniel-John to join the Universal | DreamWorks family to play a small role in How To Train Your Dragon.
DJW TALENT has been responsible for securing opportunities in countless TV and Film productions, such as How To Train Your Dragon, The Dumping Ground, Hollyoaks, Doctors, Smoggie Queens and countless others. Our actors have secured contracts with tv adverts, theatre tours, short films, feature films and everything in-between.
In the beginning DJW TALENT worked with actors aged 7-11 | 12-15 and 16+ seeing over 100 students every week between Stockton, Middlesbrough and Newcastle. The pandemic changes the direction of workshops and the numbers dropped but the vision remained the same. Classes changed to accommodate the changes and DJW TALENT focussed on adult actor training only.
DJW TALENT was launched with the purpose of aiming to provide comprehensive actor training and representation in the North East of England. DJW TALENT now offers weekly Masterclasses, industry workshops, and private tuition for actors 16+ with a passion to develop professionally. Over the years, DJW TALENT has opened workshops in Stockton, Middlesbrough, and Newcastle. DJW Talent, the Agency, represents a diverse range of actors, working closely with casting directors and producers to secure opportunities in theatre, television, and film.
Daniel-John’s commitment to actor development is evident in his hands-on approach. He offers private acting tuition and consultations, focusing on character development, audition techniques, and career strategies. His Masterclasses, provide in-depth training to refine skills and prepare for industry demands.
Beyond DJW, Daniel-John co-founded Nova Mundi Studios in 2022, with Marc de Launay further expanding his influence in the creative industry. Here, a slate of ideas were developed for pitching purposes at Channel4, Netflix, BBC Comedy, Patrick Productions, Fullwell73 and many more.
For almost ten years, DJW hosted headshot sessions, showreel services, monologue and self tape services - further contributing to the support offered to all those taking their careers seriously.
