ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Daniel-John Williams is a multi-talented creative professional with a career spanning over 30 years across theatre, television, film, and gaming. A native of Teesside and a Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts graduate (2008), Daniel-John has established himself as a respected actor, director, acting coach, casting director, and producer.
His recent on-screen work includes portraying Fungi, a Viking character, in the upcoming How To Train Your Dragon live-action film from Universal and DreamWorks. Known for his adaptability and creative range, he has also appeared in popular television dramas such as Vera, Doctors, Casualty, Make Me Famous, Birds of a Feather, Looted, and Redirected.
Beyond acting, Daniel-John is passionate about actor development. As the founder and company director of DJW Talent, a thriving Teesside-based agency, he has created a dynamic platform that nurtures and represents performers at every stage of their careers. Through DJW Talent’s Masterclass Actor Training program, he offers practical and creative guidance, focusing on character development, script work, casting strategies, and industry-ready preparation.
His coaching expertise has seen him collaborate with high-profile figures such as Strictly Come Dancing’s Sara Davies—helping her successfully portray Princess Fiona during Movie Week—and Lucy Moss, the voice of Emily Elephant in Peppa Pig. He has worked with actors from top TV shows including Coronation Street, Shameless, Waterloo Road, and Hollyoaks, offering innovative methods to deepen character understanding and deliver standout performances.
Daniel-John has also made a significant impact behind the camera. He produced and co-directed the acclaimed feature documentary HOME (2020–2023), a heartfelt exploration of community, mental health, and pigeon racing, funded by North East Screen and supported by Tull Stories. He was also involved in Comedy Sparks through Channel 4’s North East Comedy HotHouse and Couch Potato Films.

In the gaming world, his early work involved collaboration with director John Dower on Project Nutal—a pioneering interactive drama project for Xbox at Lionhead Studios—where he helped shape character-driven content for the game Mylo & Kate.
Daniel-John is co-founder of Nova Mundi Studios (launched in 2021 with Marc de Launay), which is developing a diverse slate of scripted and factual entertainment projects. The studio is currently in discussions with commissioners and production companies on a variety of upcoming television and film ideas.
He has served as casting director on multiple projects, including the multi-award-winning A Six & Two Threes (Candle & Bell), BFI.Network shorts The Wilds and Brother Nature, and Taxi Tales for BBC. He is currently executive producer on a digital comedy factual entertainment show in development for Channel 4.
In recognition of his contributions to the arts and community, Daniel-John was recently appointed a trustee of Iron Guidance, a local charity supporting children and families in financial hardship. He is also an active member of the Tees Valley Screen Steering Group and was selected for the Creative England Foundations Film & TV Programme (2022–2023). Between 2021 and 2023, he supported the BFI Academy by leading workshops in acting, character development, and script work for young filmmakers.
At DJW Talent, Daniel-John continues to lead from the front, delivering masterclass sessions that emphasise craft, creativity, professionalism, and strategic routes to industry access. His mission is clear: to equip actors with the tools, techniques, and mindset needed for sustainable and successful careers in entertainment.
