WE ARE BACK IN THE STUDIOS
Passion led us here.
Dedicated and loyal parents and students with a bundle of passion is the reason we are able to open our doors this weekend. We switched to e-learning during the pandemic and sailed through six months of distance and home education. But, now we are back...
The DJW School of Acting team are thrilled to be welcoming our students back to the studios this weekend along with some new faces. We will be welcoming everyone to a new way of working and things might look a little different for a while, but we are embracing the new normal and looking at using the restrictions as a vehicle to create work which otherwise might never have been made.
We are Covid prepared with a risk assessment to safeguard everyone attending and have measures in place to keep people social distancing and focussing on general wellbeing and lots of hand sanitiser and ventilation.
DJW are working hard to ensure our students are receiving the very best actor training during these unusual times and continue to support our students and clients in securing auditions and contracts in theatre, television and film.
Our new DJW in-house acting diploma launches this weekend and our students will embark on a carefully designed course for four hours contact time per week over forty four weeks of the year. Each year will have an end of year project in July (excluding year one)
Youths and Adults in Teesside and Newcastle can participate and we will do everything we can to help our parents and students navigate these challenging times.
We will be offering scholarships again in 2021 by way of audition. Sadly this year we were unable to reach out and discover talent in our usual way, which would usually see us give between £2,000 and £5,000 in scholarships. We are an independently run, family business and receive no external funding from Governing bodies. So we were really disappointed to have to cancel our auditions this year.
Showreel services, headshots and self tape services resume next week too!
Stay safe everyone!
